Christopher J. Smith, Esquire, received his B.A., cum laude, from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA. He received his law decree (J.D.) from the University of Baltimore School of Law where he was involved in the Family Law Clinic.
Following prior family law associations with the Law Offices of Franklin R. Blatt, in Harrisonburg, VA, and with Jones & Green, LLP, in Charlottesville, Mr. Smith founded the Law Offices of Christopher J. Smith, PLC to provide family law legal services to clients in the Central Virginia area.
Mr. Smith’s practice concentrates in all areas of family law, excluding adoptions.
He is a past co-chair of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association’s Family Law Section. He has also served as an expert witness in Circuit Court, and has successfully represented clients in appellate proceedings in both the Court of Appeals of Virginia and in the Supreme Court of Virginia. He has also given legal education presentations to the CABA Family Law Section.
A member of the Virginia State Bar & Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association, Mr. Smith is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
