Justin Watson began his law practice with a boutique civil and criminal litigation firm in Fairfax, VA, following which he joined Law Offices of Christopher J. Smith, PC in 2014. He is an experienced trial lawyer practicing various family law matters, which include matters of divorce, custody / visitation, child support, spousal support, property division, protective orders, and appeals.

Justin Watson completed his B.A. from the University of Virginia in 2001. Later, he graduated from the George Mason University School of Law in 2011 and served as the president of the school’s Trial Advocacy Association. He is also the recipient of the 2011 Trial Advocacy Award presented by the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.

After graduating from law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jonathan C. Thacher of the 19th Judicial Circuit of Virginia. He received his bar admission in 2011 to work in Virginia and 2012 for Eastern District of Virginia.

Justin is experienced in handling a wide range of cases in commercial litigation, criminal law, and appeals, appearing in state and federal courts including the Supreme Court of Virginia, the Court of Appeals of Virginia, and the Eastern District of Virginia.

He focused on domestic relations law after he joined Law Offices of Christopher J. Smith, PC serving Charlottesville / Albemarle County and nearby jurisdictions like Fluvanna, Greene, Nelson, Augusta, Louisa, and Buckingham.

Justin, along with his wife Klair and their young children, is active in the Charlottesville and Crozet communities. Justin loves running and is an avid runner. He also has a keen interest in athletics and is a supporter of the University of Virginia athletics.
