Daniel (Dan) Roberts is a Virginia licensed attorney who is “Of Counsel” to the Law Offices of Christopher J. Smith, PC. Prior to this
position, he was a partner in the firm of Lax & Truax, LLC and Of Counsel at its successor firm, Reich & Truax, PLLC in Southport, Connecticut, where he began his career in 2000. Dan received his undergraduate degree (magna cum laude) in Sociology from the University of Connecticut and his Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law. Dan held a Florida Supreme Court certified Family mediator license (2014-2022), with additional training in Elder mediation and Shared Family decision making and holds a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation from the IDFA. Dan served as an ABA Vice-Chair of the Young Lawyers Family Division (2010-11) and Taxation Committee (2019-20); Connecticut Bar Association Family Law Executive Committee member (2008-15), Professionalism and CLE Committee member (2013-2019) and as a Co-Chair on the Fairfield County (CT) Bar Association Family Law Section (2012-15). Dan and his family reside in New Kent County, Virginia, having relocated to the Commonwealth in 2019.
